The need for Christian Aid around the world is sadly all too vital. Becky Hurst, a full time aid worker in the Warrington Office, gave an interesting talk about her recent work in the Philippines. She explained some of the culture of this remote country scattered over 7107 islands and its problems eg typhoons and pollution. In conclusion Becky emphasised a dire prediction of climate change on Filipino life. A donation was made to Christian Aid whose national collection will be held on the 13-19th May 2007. |
