In memory of
John Whitfield of Mosley Hall esquire,
who died on the 11th of august 1808,
aged 65 years.
"He suffered much from God's afflicting rod."
"Taught first to know himself~and then His GOD".
Also in
memory of Ellen his surviving widow,
who died on the 30th November 1813
aged 69years.
This tablet was erected by their daughter Ellen,
as a small tribute of her veneration and love. |

are deposited the mortal remains of
Sarah.
wife of John Johnson, esqe. of Mortlake House.
Who died the 20th of may 1832, in the 63? year of her age
as an affectionate and devoted wife,
a tender and judicious parent,
and a faithful friend
she found her earthly comfort
in the fulfilment of her domestic duties:
and, walking humbly with her god,
she relied solely on the merits of her redeemer
for happiness hereafter.
her afflicted husband,
deeply sensible of the bereavement he has sustained.
rears this tablet as a sincere tho' inadequate memorial
of her departed worth.
